Lulah has matured into a wonderful “young-Lady”. Her mom & I think that she does hear a few different frequencies of sound just by the way she reacts. She is far smarter than her hearing counter-parts (namely us humans) because we find ourselves calling her name, and of course she can’t hear us!

The weiners still try to make Lulah the bad-dog when there are incidents that occour when no one is around….but we’ve found who the culprits are, and they surely are one’s who can hear!

I never knew Jack, but when I read the story, it brought tears to my eyes. I too, lost my Boxer,,Barron after only 8 years. To this day I miss him terribly, and when I read or hear stories of such all the emotions come flooding in. We are truly the lucky ones in this dog/human relationship. I just wanted to say, thank you for sharing your story. May the hurt go away, but keep his memory close with you at all times..

Yesterday Reese came over for the day with Onyx. Onyx spent a little time looking around as if she was still looking for Jack. Of course when I called them I also called for Jack. I always called him, even though I knew he was deaf — but sometimes he came when he was called.

I miss that big affectionate captain!

Lulah has adapted well in her new surroundings and with her pack of wieners that seem to guide her into trouble more often than not. I’ve dubbed her as “chaos” since her bouts’ of puppy-driven activities resemble more like a nuclear bomb went off (being deaf & being a puppy has a lot to do with that!).

She is a happy girl who loves to play and enjoys meeting new people & dogs – especially those who want to play all day!
